About the project.
In the upcoming project this house will undergo an innovative redesign, transforming the 1960s twin house into a harmonious blend of tradition and modern functionality. While preserving its original exterior volume and street-facing appearance, strategic enhancements will revitalize the interior and patio spaces. A multifunctional garage, featuring transparent glass panels, will serve as a versatile area for dining, entertaining, or poolside relaxation. Utilizing modular elements throughout, the design will optimize every inch of space, with foldable walls in the kitchen and office areas ensuring adaptability to various living configurations. The second floor will offer a contemporary living space with balconies overlooking the sea, providing panoramic views and privacy from the bustling shoreline.
Story behind the design.
In this project, architects undertook the redesign of the Gaia House, a 1960s twin house, with a focus on preserving its original charm while modernizing its functionality. The UrbanCore team carefully planed and innovated to optimize every aspect of the living space, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to various configurations. Challenges such as integrating a versatile garage with transparent glass panels to maximize natural light were addressed. The interior layout will prioritize flexibility with foldable walls, while the second floor will offer contemporary living spaces with ocean views from balconies. This project aims to demonstrate how innovative design can transform traditional houses into modern homes that seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetics for a luxurious living experience.
