A groundbreaking social housing project was built beetween 1997 and 2000, commissioned by the Municipality of Stª Mª Feira. This project provided innovative solutions for affordable housing, integrating seamlessly with the local community while also addressing social needs.
Story behind the design.
In this project, an attempt was made to conceive a multifamily building of 12 homes with formal and functional characteristics near houses. In its spatial organization, we tried, on one hand, to organize the functional structure suitable to their users, and on the other hand, to assume the strictness of controlling areas for suitable construction.
This building was awarded with an honourable mention in National Housing awards of the National Housing Institute, in 2001.
