About the project.

The Santo Tirso House is a grand architectural project envisioned for a friend’s doctor, strategically positioned atop a hill to overlook the expansive valley below. The house embodies modernity and functionality while harmonizing with its natural surroundings. One of the striking features of the house is its structural composition in metal, giving it a contemporary and sleek appearance. Its design is focused on maximizing the panoramic views of the valley, achieved through expansive windows and strategically placed openings that invite natural light and scenery into the living spaces.

The house is divided into two main areas, symbolically representing a T-shaped structure. The upper floor is an open and airy layout, with the kitchen area seamlessly transitioning into a spacious living area. This floor opens up to a large patio, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. A corridor leads to the bedrooms, ensuring privacy and tranquillity for the residents. The master bedroom, centrally located, boasts luxurious amenities including a glass-enclosed shower, double sinks, and ample closet space. Sliding doors offer flexibility in accessing the bedroom while maintaining a sense of elegance and sophistication. What makes the Santo Tirso House truly remarkable is its adaptability. Through a clever design concept, the house can transform into a three-part structure, akin to a tree. By closing off certain sections with walls, the layout seamlessly shifts to accommodate different functions. The dining area emerges while the lower level is transformed into an extended living space, complete with laundry facilities seamlessly integrated into the design.
